Are you vacation-ready…for your live goals?

Planning for Your Goals Like You Plan Your Vacation

When was the last time you planned a vacation? Think about all the time and energy you poured into it. You researched destinations, compared flights, found the best places to stay, and maybe even mapped out your daily itinerary. You carefully packed your bags, made sure everything at home was in order, and counted down the days until you could step into that dream getaway.

The funny thing is, you probably spent more time planning for that vacation than you spent actually on the vacation. And you did it all intentionally, proactively, and with a clear goal in mind: to make the most of your trip.

Now, let me ask you this: Do you approach your personal and professional goals the same way?

For most of us, the answer is no. Instead of proactively setting goals with intention and clarity, we wait. We wait until we feel stuck, overwhelmed, or burned out. We wait until something isn’t working, and then we scramble to fix it. This reactive approach often leads to frustration and short-term solutions that don’t address the root of the problem.

But what if we treated our goals like we treat our vacations? What if we got clear on what we wanted, made intentional plans, and proactively worked toward the life we truly desire? That’s where my Goal Gap Framework comes in.

The Goal Gap Framework: Discover, Design, and Conquer

The Goal Gap Framework is a simple yet powerful process to help you stop reacting and start creating a life of purpose and fulfillment. Here’s how it works:

  1. Discover The first step is getting crystal clear on what you want. What are your values, priorities, and big-picture dreams? This step is all about uncovering what truly matters to you so you can create goals that align with your purpose.

  2. Design Once you know where you’re headed, it’s time to design the roadmap. This step involves creating an actionable, intentional plan that breaks your goals into manageable steps. Think of it as the itinerary for your journey—one that’s tailored to your unique destination.

  3. Conquer Finally, it’s time to take action. This step is about overcoming obstacles, staying focused, and consistently moving toward your goals. It’s not about perfection; it’s about progress and building momentum.

From Reactive to Proactive

The beauty of the Goal Gap Framework is that it shifts you from a reactive mindset to a proactive one. Instead of waiting until something feels wrong, you’re intentionally creating a vision for your life and taking steps to bring it to life.

It’s like planning that dream vacation—only this time, you’re investing in yourself and your future.

The power of community…

As an entrepreneur, I’ve attended countless networking events over the years. Some were through local organizations, others were casual invites from friends, and many had their merits. But today, I experienced something truly special—a virtual networking event exclusively for women entrepreneurs.

What made this event stand out wasn’t just the format or the people—it was the intentionality behind it. The room was filled with women who were not only passionate about growing their businesses but also about building genuine connections. This wasn’t just a space to exchange business cards or pitch products. It was a supportive environment created specifically for collaboration, referrals, and meaningful conversations.

I left the event feeling inspired, energized, and grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many incredible women. And as I reflected on the experience, I realized just how much the value of community plays into my personal and professional fulfillment.

Community: The Key to Thriving, Not Just Surviving

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned throughout my career is that success isn’t just about hard work or expertise—it’s about the people you surround yourself with. Whether in past jobs or now as a wellness coach, the moments that brought me the most joy and fulfillment were always rooted in community.

Being part of a supportive group of like-minded individuals doesn’t mean everyone has to be in the same industry or share identical goals. What matters is a shared commitment to lifting each other up, offering encouragement, and celebrating one another’s wins.

This kind of connection creates an environment where you can grow, take risks, and push boundaries because you know there’s a safety net of people cheering you on.

Better Together: Why We Need Each Other

There’s a reason why the phrase “we are better together” has stood the test of time. It’s more than just a cliché—it’s a way of life. When we open ourselves up to collaboration and connection, we allow others to amplify our efforts and help us achieve things we could never do alone.

Here’s what I’ve come to appreciate about community:

  1. It’s Energizing: Being surrounded by people who are passionate and driven reignites your own spark.

  2. It’s Supportive: In challenging moments, having someone to lean on can make all the difference.

  3. It’s Inspiring: Hearing other people’s stories of success and perseverance motivates you to keep going.

  4. It’s Empowering: Sharing your own wins and seeing how they inspire others builds confidence and momentum.

Finding Clarity and Confidence Through Connection

For many of us, the biggest obstacles we face aren’t external—they’re internal. Fear, self-doubt, and uncertainty can hold us back from taking action and moving toward our goals.

This is where community becomes a game-changer. When you’re surrounded by people who see your potential and believe in you, it becomes easier to see it in yourself. The encouragement, advice, and shared experiences of others can help you:

  • Gain Clarity: By listening to others’ journeys, you can uncover what truly matters to you and what’s possible for your own life.

  • Build Confidence: Each time you share your story or take a small step forward, you strengthen your belief in yourself.

  • Overcome Obstacles: Community members can offer fresh perspectives and practical solutions to the challenges you’re facing.

This is the heart of my work and the foundation of the small-group coaching programs I offer. Programs like my Beyond the Breakthrough Academy are designed to help you move from feeling stuck and overwhelmed to gaining clarity, confidence, and actionable steps to create the life you want.

A Challenge for You

If you’re not already part of a supportive community, I challenge you to find one. Attend a networking event, join a professional group, or even reach out to someone whose work inspires you. You never know where a single connection might lead.

And if you already have a community you love, lean into it. Show up for others, share your experiences, and celebrate the magic of working together.

Just the other day, I had the privilege of meeting with a group of incredible women from all different walks of life, brought together by a shared mission: to support each other in growing our businesses. We brainstormed ideas for collaborations, workshops, and events, each of us bringing unique perspectives and strengths to the table. It was a beautiful reminder that when we pool our resources, talents, and experiences, we not only elevate ourselves but create opportunities for everyone to thrive. This kind of collaboration is the essence of community—working together to achieve more than we ever could alone.

Because when we embrace the power of community, we not only create something special for ourselves—we create a ripple effect of positivity and possibility for everyone around us.

Here’s to building clarity, confidence, and meaningful connections as we thrive together!

Beyond the Breakthrough: My Journey and How You Can Create Yours

Hi, I’m Rachelle. And if you’re here, it’s because you’re ready to move beyond obstacles and create a life you love.

Let me share a little about my journey. Growing up, I was shy - VERY SHY. So much so that it impacted so many areas of my life including school. I struggled academically, and that's an understatement. So much so in fact that after having had to repeat most of my classes in summer school or night school I made it to two weeks until graduation. I was good to go and I only had one assignment left in my 12th grade English class - a two minute speech. Not a great thing for a shy person. I had clearly labeled myself as shy and adjusted living my life around this label.

Eventually I found my interests and was able to put myself into college simply to learn more about these passions that I had. Not only did focusing on what I loved allow me to expand my knowledge and learn, but it also helped build my confidence in my abilities to achieve and succeed in doing the things that I wanted to do. Even still I felt the need to do everything just right, to avoid that same feeling that I got when I was a kid. Being shy wasn't about not being seen it was about not doing it right, not being perfect, and feeling like I had to do things the way other people wanted me to do them

But over time, I discovered something transformative: progress doesn’t require perfection. It starts with getting clear on what matters and taking small, steady steps forward. It's not about what other people want, it's about doing what brings me joy and makes me feel happy.

That mindset carried me through earning a bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language/English Interpretation and then master’s degree, becoming a teacher, and later diving into wellness coaching. I realized that the breakthroughs I achieved weren’t just about me—they were lessons I could share to help others unlock their potential.

That’s why I created the Beyond the Breakthrough Academy, a small-group coaching program designed to help others turn dreams into reality. Using a framework I call The Goal Gap, we focus on gaining clarity, crafting a vision, and planning for success.

If you’ve ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start, I want you to know you’re not alone. Your breakthrough is closer than you think, and I’d love to help you find it.

Throughout this program I heard some incredible stories of obstacles that were faced and overcome. I often found myself guiding people through these conversations as they were projecting from a place of lack. They were living in a space where they focused on what they didn't have yet or what they had yet to achieve. I realized we needed a place to celebrate all the achievements that we had overcome already.

This is when my new YouTube channel, Beyond The Breakthrough, was born. This is a space that I cannot only share tips and tools, motivate and inspire you to take action towards your dream life but it's a space in which people like you and me can share their stories. They can celebrate their wins and their successes. And they can help make a difference in the life of somebody else by doing so.

So on Monday, January 6th, 2025, beyond the breakthrough will launch and go live. I invite you to join and be inspired and even consider sharing your story that will one day impact somebody else.

So check it out, subscribe, like, and share at https://www.youtube.com/@BeyondTheBreakthrough

Remember, if this shy little girl who was terrified beyond belief to give a two minute speech in order to guarantee her high school graduation can start a YouTube channel - ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE FOR YOU TOO!
